Twenty Past Two, that was the time which popped into the mind of my partner a year before it happened!
This was not the first time my partner has sensed the final moment of somebody he loved.
For who or which day of the above remained a mystery until that moment arrived.
On the 26th January 2010, an appointment was made for a vet to visit and to put to sleep our beloved dog:
Starlet (Gwiazdeczka). When the vet and assistant said they would arrive at 2’o clock,
we already knew what time it was actually going to be. The vet was late and gave Starlet the injection at exactly twenty past two.
It was heart breaking!
Starlet was our beloved pet, who will always be with us....in our hearts and minds...., we miss her so much.
When I created this painting, I tried many times to fix the hands of the clock at twenty past two,
but always the hands moved a few minutes late, in the end I gave up.......,
maybe those few minutes are more to the correct time (if our clocks were wrong)
or maybe this was the last few minutes before she passed?
This painting is 5th from a series which I have created and dedicated to life of one dog.
Starlet was born in my house and I assisted her mum in helping to bring her into this world and from the first days of her existence,
she was fighting for her life!
In her lifetime she endured 6 operations, which saved her life,
this dog that managed to bounce back time and time again but also managed to be a happy, friendly and an intelligent friend.
The first painting which starts her story, tells of her birth and the tragic event connecting to this:

This painting I am dedicating to my beloved dog: Starlet (Gwiazdeczka),
who passed away after nine and half years of her life on 26th of January 2010.
Registered Kennel Club Name: Born Under Bright Sky (AA3) born: 29.07.2000
In this piece you will see a small depiction of her life and her personality,
so you see all around her the nature, which she absolutely loved....,
on sunny days she would stay in the garden for ages, not wanting to come indoors,
laying in her favourite spot in a corner under a conifer, viewing the whole garden.
She loved all animals and protected the birds that lived in the nest boxes
and those that often flew in and visited for food. It is quite interesting how birds knew her,
by safely eating on the netting bridges above her head, jumping all round her......
Fluffy bears and footballs were her best and favourite toys...,
but about footballs is a separate and special story.....she absolutely loved them!
We have a corner house and garden and when kids played with a ball in the street,
Starlet was very excited and patiently waiting (barking occasionally),
for the ball, because from time to time, the kids kicked the ball too much
or too hard in the wrong direction and it landed in our garden......
That was absolute treasure for her! She was waiting a long time for this moment!
If I did not hear this, or the kids knocked at my door a few minutes too late,
sometimes there was not very much left of the ball. You imagine that ball in strong grip of a Rottweiler?
The kids knew her and quickly learned about the destiny of a ball which was landing when Starlet was in the garden,
so in the last years, it was very rare for such a treasure to land in front of my dog.....
We all loved and still do, this friendly, soft, happy and very intelligent dog and her passing
has left a very huge emotional hole in our hearts.
This piece it is not a fantasy or my imagination and depicts a record of a real event,
which really happened. Behind the painting I have attached a plastic envelope containing documents,
such as the vet bills. etc.. of ‘that event’ and they are now a part of this art.

No. 139
I have dedicated this painting to my mother who died tragically in a road accident on the 10th of October 2006.
I have tried to capture her personality, energy and ‘essence’ by including within the artwork
some ‘very personal’ items containing her DNA (which I was lucky to have found), also many other things which she often liked to surround herself with.
The painting is in two parts, the smallest and the largest.
The larger piece represents her life here in this world and contains the sun which is the source of life and death.
I have created the sun from my mother’s gold and amber beads also some of the many shells that she had collected and kept around her home.
You will also see a ‘brass peacock’ which hung above her favourite mirror and pieces of old plastic flowers which she loved rearranging to make new compositions.
Her top denture, tooth ex-ray and other dental pieces, I have attached here, because some of these were a part of a few of her health problems especially in last her year of life.
Other personal items include: her watch, gold rings, the photo bus pass she was so proud of getting, the stethoscope she used when she was a Doctor in Poland and a Life stone
(which changed colour depending on her mood). This she lost from one of her rings in my home weeks earlier but I never had the chance to return to her before she died.
The smaller piece contains part of prayer she composed and wrote in the Polish language which she recited every day, asking that she be granted an honourable death.
I have included in this piece her rosary.
In both pieces I have placed some strands of her hair and the string of ambers the emergency unit had to cut from around her neck at the scene of the accident.
With this picture I wanted to stop time, making my mother live for ever.

This painting is dedicated do my husband who passed away from cancer on 19th February 2006.
The painting was born from tears and grief after the loss of the best, loyal,
heroic and very loving husband in the World.
This piece I created straight away from my heart, for myself,
to immortalize him and his short (was only 6 weeks from diagnosis)
battle for his life.
To show his grief and pain in the final days, closing that way
the history book of a branch of his family tree, for which his was the last one who survived.
I used to creating this painting, 7 strings of real, black jet stones,
to emphasize grief and morning.
Also, I attached two pieces of cigarettes, which he was smoking and finally they kill him,
3 teeth’s- one of which just dropped strangely from his mouth
like it had not been growing from his gums,
just a few months before the sad end, showing there was something going wrong
with his health. I added them to the painting not only because of that,
but also because I wanted to preserve his DNA,
believing that will give him life for ever and in the same way
keep him and his positive energy here.

In July 2000, when our Kalinka gave birth to 13 puppies we couldn’t have been happier,
but only a week, later death came knocking at the door and one after another the little puppies began to die.
For nights I didn’t sleep, weeping during every flight for every little life, every battle for every little dog,
but even with the support we got from the Paramedic Unit, only four survived.
